The Hemoglobin A1c is a measure of a person's average blood sugar. The American Diabetes Association recommends that diabetics should have their Hemoglobin A1c monitored 2-4 times a year. The lower the value, the better; the goal is a Hemoglobin A1c less than 7, if possible.
